Aims and Objectives
The Sikh
Interfaith Council of Victoria (SICV) is an incorporated non-profit
organisation, with a vision to create greater awareness and
understanding of Sikhs and Sikhism in the Australian community. Since
its formation on 1st September 2002, SICV’s mission has been
to represent Sikhs on the multi-faith platform in Victoria. It has been
invited, time and again to interfaith events and approached by
government agencies to make representation on issues concerning the
Sikhs in Victoria. SICV promotes and works for dialogue, respect and
understanding among all religions.
OBJECTIVES
The
objectives of the organisation are to:

Share information about the Sikh Faith
with the Australian community.

Promote the practice of Sikhism among
Sikhs.

Make representations to the Government
and other organizations on matters affecting the Sikh faith.

Represent Sikhs at local, State, and
National Forums.

Network with Interfaith organizations.

Contribute Sikh perspectives to issues
of common human concern.

Promote a culture of peace and harmony
within Multicultural Australia.
Since
the formation of the organization we have been a single voice
representing the views of the Sikh Community in Victoria at various
Forums and Networks
